Kobane-2015-9559.jpg

60 year old Zelikha Khalil is the owner of a general store in Kobane. There, they sell everything they can find at the moment. This is not much, as Zelikha says, because not many goods reach Kobane due to the closure of the border from Turkey to Syria. When the „Islamic State“ (ISIS) was advancing towards Kobane in September 2014, she fled to the Turkish border town Suruc together with her husband, then, when the city was liberated from ISIS, she returned to continue her store, that she found empty. With her income, she wants first of all to support her three daughters financially. Kobanê (Ayn al-Arab), Syria, June 21, 2015
